Think of any four summer coolers – For e.g. watermelon juice, mango juice, lemon juice, butter milk. Would the cocktail taste just as refreshing?  That explains Tashan.

Take four leading, favorite actors, garnish them with action, songs, dances, lots of style, attitude and to top it all - a crooked story. Give this cocktail a catchy name and yet it doesn’t turn out as appetizing.

Bhaiyyaji (Anil Kapoor) is a small town don who’s obsession is to speak English. Jimmy(Saif) is his English guru and Pooja (Kareena) works for Bhaiyyaji with a certain motive. Pooja  and Jimmy fall in love and plot to elope with Bhaiyyaji’s booty. But Pooja dupes Jimmy and flees with the money, minus Jimmy. Bhaiyyaji hires Bachchan Pande (Akshay Kumar) and Jimmy to hunt for Pooja. Somewhere along, Bachchan Pande discovers that Pooja is his childhood crush. The three decide to outsmart  Bhaiyyaji but Bhaiyyaji gets the better of them. The film concludes with an action packed predictable climax.

Kareena’s newly acquired  slim and svelte physique looks very international. How much it appeals to the Indian audience remains to be seen. Kareena-Saif’s offscreen escapades maybe be making daily news, but their onscreen chemistry is just average.

Out of all the performances, Akshay Kumar’s Tashan appeals the most. Be it his stunts, comedy, emotion he is brilliant.

The music of the film has a rustic, bhojpuri feel which is immensely hummable.
